In terms of access to health care services, it is estimated that in only % of the Nigerian population was covered by any form of modern health care services. Also, services were concentrated in the urban areas to the detriment of the rural areas. The Nigerian Government has long recognized the importance of community participation in the delivery of basic health care services and has thus tried to involve the communities in the development of PHC along the lines of the Bamako Initiative.

  The Government and the Nigerian State should begin to realize that for a country to move forward, it needs high quality health care delivery service for our entire citizenry. This can only be achieved by proper education of the medical doctors and massive attention to the needs of the doctors and infrastructure within the medical environment. The rate of poor health care delivery services in Nigeria has been a major problem in the Nigerian Health Sector consuming so much thoughts and rigorous policies that have been set in place to.
